Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe
Southern Africa

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country located in the southern Africa between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers. It shares borders with four countries; Mozambique in the east, South Africa in the south, Zambia in the northwest and Botswana in the southwest.

Three official languages namely English, Shona and Ndebele (both Bantu languages) are used in Zimbabwe. The major cities are Harare, the capital, Beitbridge, Bulawayo, Chinhoyi, Gweru, Kariba, Kwekwe, Masvingo, Mutare, Nyanga and Victoria Falls.

Most of the country’s Eastern region has a series of mountainous areas near the border with Mozambique. The highest peak in Zimbabwe, Mount Nyangani at 2,593 m (8,507 ft) is located here as well as the Bvumba Mountains and the Nyanga National Park.

High Wire Activities
Gorge Swing!
Imagine swinging in a child's swing in the playground...now imagine a giant swing 95m long and 120m high above water...now imagine a 70m free fall before you begin swinging. Our highwire is suspended across the gorge at a point where the width is 316m and 120m deep.  A harness is attached to the jumper and then the jumping ropes, the other end of which is pivoted to the middle of the cable. The jumper leaps off the edge of the gorge, free falling about 70m before going into a 95m long pendulum type swing.

The Zip Line (Foofie Slide)!

Imagine the adrenalin rush travelling a speed of 106 km’s hurtling 425m across the gorge, while suspended 120m above the breath taking beauty of the Zambezi water below! As the river zigzags down the Batoka Gorges, our cable is suspended across from one side to the other. For this product you are harnessed and attached to a pulley, then launched over the edge picking up speed as you descend over the water and reaching a speed of 106 km an hour. This is the longest Zip Line (Foofie Slide) ride in the world.

Abseil & Rapp-jump!

Imagine abseiling 120m down a brilliant sheer cliff, doing 360-degree twists, descending backwards or rap jumping forwards and walking down the gorge as if to defy gravity itself! Suspended against the rock you can jump out and swing yourself from side to side or round in twists in as timid or confident a manor as you feel! With this product you can try both abseiling and rap jumping. Abseiling is descending backwards down the gorge and lowering yourself all the way to the bottom. Rapp Jumping, here the harness is connected backwards enabling you to run or walk down the cliff facing down into the gorge!

The Flying Fox

Imagine taking a running jump into thin air over the chasm, soaring horizontally through the air over the turmoil of the Zambezi below. The gorge at this point is 200 meters wide and 120 meters deep. This is a great appetizer before you try the Zip Line and Gorge Swing.
